Highway #22 from Calgary or Banff is the most scenic route to Waterton Lakes National Park. Highlights along the way include the Bar U Ranch National Historical Site, commemorating the contributions of the ranching industry to the development of western Canada. Take in the General Store and learn of the fascinating history of the Bar U. Keep a watch for wildlife as you enter the Chain Lakes Provincial Park. This is an excellent habitat for deer, moose, elk and coyotes. For the fishing enthusiast, the Chain Lakes offer large Lake and Rainbow trout.
