The Park is wilderness at your doorstep. Lying in a rugged section of the northern Rockies, it is known for its rugged mountain peaks and abundance of wildlife. Glacier National Park adjoins Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada, to create Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park- an ideal "two nation vacation." The first of its kind in the world, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park celebrates the longest undefended border in history. Glacier has more than 700 miles of foot and horse trails. Guided hikes, horseback trips, and boat tours are available. Approximately 1000 front-country campsites are available on first-come, first-serve basis. Park accommodations feature historic hotels and lodges.
