Calgary is a beautiful city sprawling across some of the most breathtaking landscape Alberta has to offer. Tourists get in on the fun with pancake breakfasts on the streets, square dancing, parties, parades and an enormous midway and exhibition.

Calgary has also hosted the 1988 Winter Olympics, and offers thrilling bobsleigh rides of up to 100km /hour. Take a tour of the ski jumping facilities or visit the world's largest Olympic Museum and Hall of Fame.

Experience living history in Heritage Park, an authentic turn-of-the-century town where you can experience life as it was in the Canadian wild west.

The world famous Calgary Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Prehistoric Park is open year round.

For the athletically inclined, Calgary is the gateway to adventure. The Bow River, which flows right through the City is a world famous trout fishing spot. You can also expect to find activities such as hot air ballooning, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding and hiking.

Highway #2 is the most direct route from Calgary to Waterton Lakes National Park. Driving time from the Calgary International Airport, via Highway #3 and #6 is approximately 3 hours. (235km.)
